Welcome to Looks By Li. My name is Liana and I would like to introduce you to the world of fashion and beauty as I see it. Growing up you would never think me as the queen B or even by association. Throughout Middle School and High School I was pretty reserved, a bookworm and nerd as I would so eloquently be titled by my fellow classmates. It wasn’t until later on in life that I truly began building an appreciation for the fashion and beauty industries. Yes it may all look superficial from the outside, but if we look deeper we find a world, not just of glitz and glamour and fantasy, but a world of creation, inspiration, and artistry. Why do people go to museums? They want to admire artwork and learn about it, see where it came from and maybe even find meaning to it. The fashion and beauty world don’t just give us all these things, it empowers women to reclaim their self-esteem and what’s even better is we get to decorate ourselves in it. Has anyone seen the movie the Devil Wears Prada or read the book? It's my favorite! If I had to compare myself to any literary character, Andrea Sachs would be it. Shy girl trying to make it in the Big City ends up discovering there is more to beauty and fashion industry than meets the eye. I couldn't tell you about my journey any better than that. So what can I offer you? I won't lie I don’t have any technical training. I actually went to school to learn how to be a doctor, but don’t let that discourage you!
