We have officially begun music festival season around the U.S! Among one of the most famous and well known stands Coachella, which this year falls on April 15th through the 24th in California. Some of you may also be familiar with Tortuga Music Festival held every year in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Being from Florida I spent many years celebrating music at these events! If you have yet to attend one I highly recommend them. If you care to see a complete list of all the festivals being held Statewide click here.

Yes some of the wild stories you hear are true, but there is always a safe and fun way to enjoy these things without losing your mind or dignity for that matter and if you do lose something, what the heck have fun! I aint gonna judge, YOLO right?

Anyways back to what you really came here for, fashion and makeup am I right? In lieu of all the festivities this week I wanted to begin this series to give you all some inspirational fashion and beauty makeup looks to get you excited about attending whichever festival you will be attending to this year. Each day this week I will post a style look or makeup look with a music festival vibe to inspire your artistic and creative juices. I would really like to see you guys tag me on social media with all your wonderful music festival themed looks at, #InspiredByLi . Remember you guys are my inspiration too. That being said here is Part one of this Festival Series and the very first outfit look. I hope you guys enjoy it!

For this look I wanted to go with a simple, comfortable, yet very 70s Hippie inspired style. When I think of music festivals I think of the infamous Woodstock, held back in August of 1969. Lots of braided hair, florals, and low cut shoulder tops. As always history repeats itself and fashion is no exception. Trends come and go as things become hot or cold. Two very hot trends this year center around bear shoulders and espadrilles. So in this look I paired this flow-y waterfall cascading bare-shoulder top with a floral print, along with light fabric navy blue shorts and Tory Burch Espadrilles to match the navy blue. Hopefully the weather at Coachella will be much more favorable then the cold, dreary, rainy weather we currently have here in NY. I apologize for not being able to take pictures outside with these looks as the weather this week has been very wet and overcast. Also please forgive my ghostly pale skin, like I said no sun in NY yet. Anyways back to the look!

The detailing on the top and the shoes ties in very nicely with the colorful accents on the tie ribbon of the espadrilles and the pretty florals of the top. When picking out your outfit for the festival be sure to pick something you can be comfortable in for hours! Also if you feel you are too vulnerable with a bear should top, wear a bathing suit top underneath and be sure to double knot, to steer away pranksters who want to cause you any embarrassment. Also be sure to wear lots and lots of sunscreen for all my ivory skinned ladies and gents! Plus 80 degree burns are not fun.

For my hair I decided to attempt to do a Dutch braid, lol. Lets just say I need a lot more practice! For a very good tutorial on how to do this braid I highly recommend Nicole Guerrero’s video on YouTube. I will link it here, just click and watch. With practice you will be a pro at doing this braid in no time! You can also wear your hair in a pony tail or loose with this look, be creative!

I will link all the pieces to this look below and I hope you all enjoy my Festival look. Be sure to tag me to show me the looks you chose to go with at #InspiredByLi. Enjoy and be safe, love you guys!
