Hello again everyone! I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. As you know this week on my blog we are delving into Music Festival inspirations. I want to take you through a series of fashion and beauty makeup looks that will get your creative juices flowing and get you excited about attending one of the biggest events in April. As you all know Coachella is vastly approaching this weekend and is set to be the event of the year in California. Hopefully you got some good trendy ideas from Part one of my series including a casual, yet comfortable, hippie and 70s inspired look using the off-the-shoulder and espadrilles trend that are hitting big at the moment. If you didn’t catch the first post click here, and tag me on your outfit pictures so I can see the great looks you all come up with at #inspiredbyli .

Now lets go onto the first makeup look in my music festival series. For this look I decided to recreate a look done by the beautiful and talented KathleenLights. If you have never heard or seen of Kathleen I highly recommend her YouTube channel. I used a lot of higher end makeup for this look, but remember that with makeup there are no rules so you can always substitute with colors and products in your own makeup bag. I will give you some great substitution options along the way as well if you don’t have a certain palette or color. Also if you guys ever have questions or need help and tips, you can always send me messages or write to me on any of my social media platforms.

For this look I used a very popular makeup technique known as the halo effect. It works very similarly to the amber effect used on lips. Basically all you need are two colors in the same color family, one being of a darker tone and the other being of lighter tone. In my look I used a dark blue-green shimmer shadow from the Marc Jacob’s Night Owl palette and contrasted the color with Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadow in Fantasy. You could easily substitute the Marc Jacobs shadow for all Makeup Geek and use Fantasy along with the foiled eye shadow in Pegasus for a similar effect. In my crease I also used Makeup Geek matte shadows in varying brown and peach shades to deepen the crease and make the shadows blend in together, nicely. I hope you all enjoy this look. I will list all products and links below with possible substitutions if you want more options.

Face:

Foundation- Lancôme Tient Idole 24hr foundation / substitution- Maybelline Matte and pore-less foundation / Setting Powder- Laura Mercier Translucent powder/ Bronzer- Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel / Substitution Bronzer- Physician’s Formula / Milani Baked Blush- Luminoso /Becca Cosmetics Highlighter – Champagne Pop .

Eyes:

Marc Jacobs Night Owl palette eyeshadow in #5 green/blue color used in the inner and outer corner of the eye lids, making sure to leave the middle center portion clean of shadow; used Makeup Geek foiled eyeshadow in Fantasy in the middle portion of the lid and blended to get a nice transitional effect. In the crease I used Makeup Geek peach smoothie, and coco bear, blended carefully to produce a nice transition between the blues and greens and the crease colors. / Topped the look with Mascara- Clinique; / used Benefit gimme brow to thicken up my eyebrows.

Lips:

Sephora Collection Lip Crème Stain in Peach Tart /small mini review, these are absolutely amazing liquid lipsticks, great staying power, wont dry your lips and super affordable.
